Merel Roze, Corrie, Maris Renne

I'm not a woman who reads magazines made exclusively for woman. Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire or Elle. It's not what i would buy in a kiosk, but if i find one in the train or on the couch of a friend, i'm attracted to it immediately. It's a secret world for me, a world which amazes me.

Last month i had to meet with a photographer for a photo shoot for Cosmopolitan, illustrating an interview with three woman who were supposed not to have any secrets anymore cause they share their lives on internet. So after a few hours of chatting, drinking tea, being worked on by a visagist, i was totally into Cosmo, i hope. The photographer kept saying 'this is not Cosmo' or 'this is very Cosmo' and i didn't have a clue what she meant.

The pics worked out ok (although i'm a bit pink and didn't know my arms are so huge!), and the best of all, they sent me two issues of Cosmopolitan. I decided to behave like a genuine reader, got some tea and chocolate, and started reading Cosmo on the couch. I laughed. the best stories:

- an analysis if they will live happily ever after, based on pictures of famous couples. (If he walks one step ahead of his wife/girlfriend, you know they'll break up soon. If they don't touch each other in front of the camera they might as well end their relation today. If they walk closely together, but she moves her lower body away from him, you know it's over ... etc etc)

- how does your boyfriend sleep at night? Did you know his sleep position tells you about his character? (On his back, he has a lot of self confidence and likes attention, on his belly, he'll have a successful carrier and might be a control-freak etc etc).

- and in the same issue: 9 embarrassing beauty problems, what does the shape of his buttocks tell you about his character?(with pictures!)

Probably most men could learn a lot of weird stuff about themselves reading those magazines. I have to admit i enjoyed reading it for a while, but also can't stand the happy superficiality. I'm just not Cosmo enough.

I updated three months of a pic a day, i'm afraid i won't make it all before january first, but at least it's finished till may 2004 now. The << and >> buttons aren't working properly, but i don't know why yet.

I'm working on a new website, weblogstyle. This means with cams and with more updates. After seven years camathome.com i need a change myself. And that change will be writing in Dutch. I do appreciate my foreign visitors a lot, but i'm not sure yet how to satisfy them with updates.

Merry Christmas to all of you and your families.

Corrie
